Planning Today Can Protect Your Loved Ones Tomorrow

We understand planning for the future can be a daunting task. Whether you are considering your own estate planning options or considering choices for the care of a loved one, we provide the guidance and support you need to make appropriate and thoughtful decisions. The team and staff at Kathryn T. Joseph & Associates, Inc., help Ohio families find comprehensive solutions for issues related to home care, assisted living, nursing home care and long-term medical needs.

Nursing home, assisted living or home health care is expensive, but there are steps you can take today to ensure that your loved ones will not face an insurmountable financial burden in the future. Since 1994, our attorneys have helped both individuals and families develop estate plans that suit their individual objectives and allow them to face the future with confidence.

Your Long-Term Care Options

When you are no longer able to care for yourself and live on your own, you have three options for care. Our lawyers help you plan today for the type of care you may need tomorrow, including the following options:

  • Home care: Our attorneys help you find resources that would allow you to receive care and support while still living in your home. We will evaluate whether or not you have sufficient assets to afford to stay in your home and evaluate whether you or your loved one may qualify for Medicaid programs like PASSPORT, which will provide care giver services in the home.
  • Assisted living care: We can help you evaluate whether or not assisted living is an appropriate option and whether or not you have sufficient assets to pay for this level of care. Depending on your financial status, we can also direct you to assisted living facilities that accept payment through the Ohio Medicaid's Assisted Living program and help you apply for this benefit.
  • Nursing home care: We can direct you to nursing homes that will best meet your needs. We will evaluate your resources to determine how long you will be able to pay for such care and assist you with applying for Medicaid benefits if appropriate. If you are married, we can evaluate spousal allowance provisions under Medicaid, which are intended to ensure that paying for your care does not impoverish your spouse.

Whether you need care today or simply want to plan for the future, our experience and client-first approach allows us to provide the comprehensive legal counsel and support you deserve.
